Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Summary

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a form of psychotherapy in which clients are encouraged to attend to their thoughts and feelings, as opposed to avoiding them. They are encouraged to accept any issues/hardships and difficult emotions they are facing and then work on behaviors that may help them spring forward into more positive mental health. ACT has been helpful for a variety of life circumstances and mental health conditions, including workplace stress, depression, test anxiety and social anxiety, as well as chronic pain and other medical conditions.
