Existential therapy helps clients explore life’s meaning. Therapists guide their clients to confront anxiety that arises out of life’s ultimate dilemmas, such as uncertainty, conflict and death, and to realize the freedom they have to make choices that could give their lives greater meaning. The focus of existential therapy is on the here and now and may be a particularly good fit for those who are feeling stuck in their lives.
